Seattle Seahawks and OC Brian Schottenheimer agree to split up

The SeahawksThe season drew to a close with a moan that made many think big changes were needed. Just a few days after Seattle lost the away card to the Rams, one of them happened.

On Tuesday, Seahawks announced that the team and attack coordinator Brian Schottenheimer had mutually agreed on the methods of breaking up, citing philosophical differences.

ESPN’s Adam Shifter stated that Schottenheimer was fired, though, rather than a mutual parting.

Schottenheimer’s three seasons as Seahawks offensive coordinator brought mixed results, with the heavy sprint of 2018 discouraging many before the team slowly headed in the right direction in the pass / run division. Schottenheimer also helped Seattle finish the top ten scoring in each of its three seasons and helped improve Russell Wilson’s out-of-pocket performance.

In 2020, the team and Wilson make a historic start, before quickly pulling back. By the end of the season, both the midfield and the attack looked broken. Instead of entering the main training circle as reported, Schottenheimer will now look for a new job.

Schottenheimer’s departure will see Carroll’s House be assigned to the fourth Offensive Coordinator during his tenure in Seattle, after Jeremy Bates and Daryl Bevel came before Schottenheimer.
